El Maule Pre-Mountain Range

As we will be sailing, leafy forests and big mountains will appear next to us. You will be shown the basic rules to sail safely in kayaks. We will camp on beautiful beaches and we will enjoy the quietness of sailing in such a place.

The Colbún Lake

Program:

DAY 1:
We will leave Santiago and go to one of the most beautiful part of the Central Andes... where the deep Maule River gives birth to the Colbun Lake. After lunch and after a chat on how will take place this expedition, our guide will teach us the basic rules of paddling. We will then start our sailing to the Bahía Romanos Island. This name was given because of the interesting rock formations that can be seen there. We will set up the camp and while some of you will have a swim in the lake, others will visit this small island, or enjoy the quietness and the silence to read or to rest before our expedition. At night, we'll have dinner and around a firecamp we will talk about the organization of the next day... or have an unforgettable night sailing!

DAY 2: Very early in the morning, we will dismantle our camp, we will take our kayaks and carry on our trip on the Colbun Lake. During the trip, we will meet several islands, that are very interested to sail around, we will enjoy seeing mountain range birds, horses, cows, sheep on the shores and we will meet some farmers working on their lands. We will enjoy sailing quietly on the water, while observing the shores and nature around us.

It includes:

  • Transportation in our van (Santiago- Lago Colbún (VII Región) - Santiago)
  • Insurance for Personal Injuries.
  • All meals according to the program (D1:LB-D / D2: L-D) B :Breakfast , LB: Lunch Box, L: Lunch, D: dinner)
  • Full sailing equipment: (kayak jackets, lifejackets, wetsuit, paddles and coat-tails, faldones, single and double expedition kayaks, with rudder ( very stable and confortable) .
  • Rescue equipment
  • Camping equipment and full cooking equipment ( 2-person tents, sunshade)
  • Bilingual seakayak guide who has rescue and first-aid knowledge (Wilderness First Responder Classes).

Difficulty:

This trip can be attended by people with no previous experience.
