This
National Reserve is located in the 6° region of Chile, in the Andes
Mountain Range. In this part of the country there is a special attraction:
a breeding colony of Burrowing Parrot (Cyanoliseus patagonus). In
one day you will watch dozens of parrots, in their breeding colony. It is a
spectacular scenery that you shouldn't miss.
We will leave Santiago at 8:00 a.m and we will arrive to the Rio Cipreses National Park at 11:00 a.m. On the way we will stop in different interesting places in order to watch birds like the Andean Condor, the Chilean Mockingbird and band-tailed sierra finch, among others. We will reach the "loreras" (burrowing parrot colony) at 11:30 a.m and stay there for a while, enjoying this beautiful landscape. After that, we will have lunch in Ranchillos, a pleasant picnic area. After lunch, we will have a trekking to beautiful waterfalls, watching a lot of birds. We will be back to Santiago at 7:00 PM.
